Description: Perennial sowthistle is a herbaceous perennial that resembles annual sowthistle, with prickly-toothed leaves and erect stems up to 5' in height.
Life Cycle: Rhizomatous perennial
Habitat: Roadsides, waste areas. Prefers slightly alkaline to neutral, fine textured, rich soils.
Leaves: Alternate, blue-green with prickly-toothed margins. Deeply triangular-lobed, 4"-12" in length.
Flower: Bright yellow to yellow orange clustered flowers resembling dandelion.
Fruit: Long, oval, ribbed achenes with feathery pappus.
