Mobile Access to Pesticides & Labels (MAPL)

The National Pesticide Information Center (NPIC) is pleased to announce the release of our latest app, which works on mobile devices and desktops. You can search for pesticide products by name, site, pest, EPA Registration Number, registrant, or search for a combination of these. You can then bookmark the results, bring up the federal label (pdf), and browse the product's ingredients, registered use sites, signal word, formulation, and more. Go to http://pi.ace.orst.edu/mapl/ to get started!

There is also a 3 minute tutorial video for the NPIC app available HERE.

Identifying Invasive Species

Great Lakes Early Detection Network (GLEDN) allows you to use the power of your smart phone to help discover non-native species early in their infestations. The apps also allows you to upload information along with images for verifiers to confirm. Data is then added do the EDDMapS site to help track these invasive species across the country. This FREE app is available on both Android and iPhone. Go to http://go.osu.edu/GLEDN on your smart phone to download the app!

Choosing an Insect Repellent

The National Pesticide Information Center has developed a web app for consumers to use when considering insect repellents. The app shows the registered repellents and allows for sorting by length of protection time. The repellents can also be chosen based on insect groups. The app is available for your smart phone at http://npic.orst.edu/myrepel.
